SESSION REVIEW OF 24th MARCH Todays session was very interesting. Since this semester is more of writing tasks than speaking, we were all a bit confused and stressed. But todays session changed our perspective completely. Today most of us got more familiar about the new software (Jamboard) that Sabu father introduced . When we were asked to use the prescribed app, we were a bit tensed but when father told us about the task, we became more enthusiastic and excited as its about drawing. Even though not all of are any Picasso or Leonardo Da Vinci, since it was instructed to draw a scenery, we became totally comfortable. But the most amazing part was how we together ended up drawing the same thing without any proper communication. When we started, different people were drawing different things, One drew mountains, another one drew tree and others focused on the background. Even before  the rough work was completed, few started coloring the spaces. Even its been a while since we had been

Today my team had a really great experience. Different from planning and implementing something after minutes of discussion, today we spontaneously  proved our teamwork. Even though me and my members were not that much confident in drawing we decided to give our best as a team. Today's session was really fruitful for us and I believe it will be same for all my other friends too. Today, members who weren't that much active in communicating during our class have contributed their best in this task which was really overwhelming for me as the team leader. Our picture was not that great but I was really touched and happy about how naturally we made our own art. For me this  picture will always be special as it is made by my team. From today's task I was assured by my teammates that they are very reliable in any situations if its on time task or preplanned one. I hope from activities like this we can not only build up our coordination and communication but also realise and valu

i have promises to keep(Leya Reginald team 2)

a promise is a big word. it either makes something or it breaks everything. But the thing about promises is... its very easy to 'make' promises. proving them is the tough part and not many can accomplish it. As a kid, a pinky promise was the first thing we all did with our friends and we keep saying how we never break them. now I'm 18 and i cannot remember the number of times people have not kept their promises and how many times I've broken them too. When someone you love breaks the promise they kept, they break the trust you have for them and no matter what they do to make it up to you...u will always never forget. my promises are mostly to myself ,to my parents and my friends whom i cherish so much. and i hope to keep them throughout my life.

I Have Promises To Keep {Esthaphan Varghese (Team 2) }

I have promises to keep. A lot of them to myself. Some to my parent's. Some to those who love me. Of all these the most important one's to the society which i belong to. Which has molded myself to who I am. So that promise is to be kept at any cost.

I have promises to keep(Aneeta Rajeev. Team 2)

All of us have many promises to keep in our life.I have many promises to keep too. As a daughter I have some promise to my parents. As a sister I have many promise to my siblings. As a student I have promises to my teacher. And so on. But the most important thing is to keep the promises to ourselves. I have to keep promises to all those who loves me..

The Little Prince-Antoine De Saint-Exupery(Leya Reginald-20umat3738)

When every one of us is a child, we are greeting this world with open arms and minds. Getting older, we lose this amazing ability to explore both the outer and the inner worlds. Modern societies are full of dull narrow-minded people whose heads are overflown with stereotypes and prejudices. Is it possible for adults to gain that curiosity and passion they had in their childhood? In fact, it is – Antoine de Saint-Exupery reveals the biggest secrets how to do it in his work, The Little Prince. Written in the form of a tale, this book is aimed not only at children. Except for the superficial level, this work makes adults to question the necessity of such typical traits of adulthood as ignorance, bluntness, narrow-mindedness, and lack of imagination. The Little Prince was written in 1943 when Saint-Exupery had a complicated period in his life. It’s full of emotional feelings concerning his childhood, war experiences, human nature, plus love to the most important woman in his life, his wi

They both die at the end – Adam Silvera This book is a heart-wrenching story about two 18-year-old boy who are told that they are going to die within 24 hours. How they come together and become a source of support and love to each other and how they make the best of their last day forms the rest of the plot. This book had me hooked from the very first pages and had me crying my heart out towards the end. It is extremely well written and follows in the pattern of point of views (POVs) of the two boys.  This book shows and proves how important it is to put life into perspective and live everyday to your fullest without leaving room for regret. It spreads hope. It is definitely one of those books everyone must read at least once in their lifetime.

I have promises to keep.

I HAVE PROMISES TO KEEP  Promise is somewhat synonymous to responsibility.  The first one is the promise to myself. This is a very important one because,  the one who can't keep promises to himself, will never be able to keep promises he has for others. I have the responsibility to make up and publish the best version of myself before the given time! The second one is the promise to my parents, who have sometimes forgotten their promises to themselves, in the urge of keeping the promises they have for me. The third one is the promise that I have for my society, nature, my nation. It was the mould in which I was shaped. And so, it has the right to get back something from me. Last but not the least, I have promises to keep to my creator. I know that He have send me to this earth with a purpose, and I will try my best to complete it beautifully, thereby keeping the promises I have for Him. Agnes Tom BSc Mathematics

'One Indian Girl' is one of the best novels from the author of six bestselling novels, Chetan Bhagat. He has already set his mark on the audience by his remarkable way of writing and good humor sense. His books are really simple that even a small child can understand the meaning. This book is special as Chetan Bhagat has written it in female voice. He has succeeded in creating an impact on the reader as it opens up the thoughts of an 'Indian girl'.                                                        Chetan Bhagat has brilliantly written the novel in such a way that the reader can immediately connect to Radhika Mehta, the central character. The novel begins with the scene of a talk at a resort in Goa. It is regarding the arrangements of rooms for the guests. The resort was the place for the grand destination wedding of Radhika. Things go on until she gets a message from her ex-boyfriend, Debashish Sen, who came to

Find the alchemist in you!

"A beautiful book about magic, dreams, and the treasure we seek elsewhere and then find on our doorstep" Definitely worth reading! I totally loved it. It is full of wisdom and philosophy, beholding the truth about dreams and desires. It is a true manifesto of the personal development and "law of attraction" new age movement.  The Alchemist is a story of a shepherd boy from the Spanish province of Andalusia who travells around the world to find the treasure which he saw in his dream. Finally he reaches his destination, the pyramids, and that was when he realised the purpose of the whole journey. He had to get to the pyramids to experience the whole world beyond what was known to him(Beyond Spain, beyond the life experiences of a shepherd), to try new things, to meet new people, to meet the alchemist which is none other than himself, and at last to return back to spain with the new version of himself, which is the actual treasure.  Deep inside, we all know what our

Goat Days- Benyamin (Alen Shibu-20umat3734, Group 2)

'Goat days' is a true story of Najeeb Mohammed,  like every other Malayalee he migrates to the Arab country(Saudi) ,to loot all the gems and Jewels and to fullfill his dreams .The story is narrated in  first person which makes you feel Najeeb himself is sitting besides you telling his dreadful, gruesome yet uplifting story. I have heard many stories of people working there, but what this tale  reveals is beyond one's imagination.Humans, being treated as animals.Without any bestowment of basic needs. Initially I was wondering , why Najeeb mentioned being in prison the safest, a place equivalent to heaven. Throughout the book I had a hard time putting myself in his shoes. Goathearding in scorching heat and peircing cold of the desert. No one can even imagine being lashed for using water for sanitation purpose. Forget  about the bath. He was even denied  food and water and was locked with the goats as punishment, which lead him to eat the wheat and water from goat's pail a

'ONE DAY THE LIFE WILL CHANGE '-Book Review by Dona Davis(BSc Maths_Group 4)

' One Day, Life Will Change ' is a sweet and inspiring story about two characters that are complete opposites and very unique in their own way. Samaira was a quirky and light-hearted, and I really liked reading about her and getting a glimpse at how her mind worked. But after losing everything, her love, parents and her career, she’s despondent to any feelings. She meets Vivian, a successful and dynamic head of Creative Tanks, and her life turned upside down. Vivian tries everything in his hands to bring Samaira back on track. This is a story about inspiration. Samaira met a man who changed her life, changed her as a person, she finally started dreaming when she finally realized what the world had to offer and what she was missing out. Thanks to Vivian she became a person who aspired to do something and not settle down for the small life but live big instead.  we don’t get second chances and we certainly don’t get second chances at living so we should live life a

Even I too have got few which I strong believe as one of the purpose of everyone's life.                  According to me, the most important promise that one need to take care of and fulfill is about themselves, its about loving oneself more the way they are, improving themselves, correcting themselves, making themselves a better person everyday.   I HAVE PROMISES TO KEEP The moment you make someone promise anything is the same moment you ask them to lie to you. This comes to my mind when I always think of promises. For me promises are like the full moon, if they are not kept at once they diminish day by day. I am a person keep many promises not to anyone for myself. I think every youth around me keeps promises to themselves like treating their parents well, getting a good job etc... I love to keep promises which I can fulfill. I keep promises in my mind to my family, my friends, my country and lastly myself. When I make promises I always try not to make it open for everyone. It makes me more comfortable to fulfil. As a boy who had came across many sad times due to people who made empty promises to me. For me broken oaths are words that no longer carry any meaning. LIFE OF SUFFERING  One of my favorite novel is, 'Aadujeevitham' by Benyamin. This novel creates the real life of a Gulf Malayalee who worked in the desert. Also, this novel gave a message that lot of sufferings of the normal gulf malayali(pravasi). This was the state award winning novel . Benyamin, the novelist's hero is Najeeb,a common Malayali. I have Promises to Keep                                        - Amal M Rajan        What makes us strong? Not physically but what make mentally strong and personality strong?  Strong promises makes strong attitude and personality.         "Promises are only as strong as the person who gives them... "                             - Stephen Richards These are famous words of Stephen Richards. From these we can understand that strong promises come from strong person and personality. Promises are some important aspects of life. There are some promises that we have to do which are inborn. Promises to yourself, parents, society etc. We only can lead a good life by fulfilling these promises. Therefore keep promises which is good for a social life, keep promises which you can carry, but don't have promises  which cannot be fulfilled.

The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho is an inspirational story of Santiago, a youthful Spanish shepherd in the rolling hills of Andalusia. The boy has deep attachment with his flock but realizing that they are devoid of aesthetic sense and appreciation for nature which he beholds, loves and admires, the course of his life changes. His parents' life is associated with struggle in a country which people from far away fantasize and romanticize but for them it's not a place of dream and charm.  Story starts with a dream followed by a series of adventures ultimately leads to resolution. It is an emotional roller coaster.  I highly recommend Harry Potter to those who enjoy whimsical fantasy novel reads that can easily captivate you into an intense and layered storyline of loss and hardship but also happiness and victory. The Harry Potter series is very well-executed, with exciting plot twists and odd questions. Even when the series is over, there are still questions to be asked and answered. The mark of a good book series is that it keeps you coming back. Harry Potter certainly keeps me coming, as I have now read the series four times over the past two or so years. Experiencing this magical world once isn't enough. You'll begin to notice smaller details as you read once again through the series, while others may take significantly longer to notice and understand. You may come back knowing a word you didn't know previously and so forth. But through this all, one thing st

Yes!We can also define life as a mixture of some of the promises that have been kept and those that have not been kept. The another factor is that our promises can either be a sharp weapon for deceiving others or be a sweet thing which do good to others. As we know that a man is a social being. We cannot even imagine a life away from the society. So we have so many responsibilities to be done to many as children, students, citizens and all.The greatest promise that we can give to others is that we will fulfill the duties towards them by arising a strong foundation between our relations through mutual love, respect, care, support, cooperation and compromise.Imagine how beautiful the world will be when those  promises are kept. Our lives are in our own hands. If we want to live a life we dreamed of or to catch up our goals, some of the promises that we have made to our conscience have to kept.Hardwork, dedication, passion, sincerity all are like milestones, they show how much distance we have to still c
