Definitely worth reading! I totally loved it. It is full of wisdom and philosophy, beholding the truth about dreams and desires. It is a true manifesto of the personal development and "law of attraction" new age movement. 

The Alchemist is a story of a shepherd boy from the Spanish province of Andalusia who travells around the world to find the treasure which he saw in his dream. Finally he reaches his destination, the pyramids, and that was when he realised the purpose of the whole journey. He had to get to the pyramids to experience the whole world beyond what was known to him(Beyond Spain, beyond the life experiences of a shepherd), to try new things, to meet new people, to meet the alchemist which is none other than himself, and at last to return back to spain with the new version of himself, which is the actual treasure. 

Deep inside, we all know what our passion is, but the problem is, we are afraid to follow it. But at the moment you show the courage to get started, the whole universe will align itself and make a way for you to get what you desire. 

Success begins at the end of your comfort zones.


The first edition of The Alchemist only sold 900 copies and the publishing house decided not to publish it further.The journey from 900 copies to 65 million copies! required a never giving up attitude.

  Lady in the house, her responsibilities and ambitions The most important video which struck my attention was the inspirational video by Amrita Duhan. Ms.Amrita Duhan is an IPS officer by profession and MBBS by degree. She hails from Rohtak in Haryana. From the very young age she dreamt of becoming a Civil Servant. She was inspired by a serial telecasted in the Doordarshan channel. Later when she informed it in her family her parents didn't support it. Sarcastically, she says that the ultimate goal of middle-class parents is let their children be a doctor or engineer. She further adds that for a secure future Mrs Amarita Duhan choose MBBS and she says that she is the first doctor in her own family. After completing her MBBS and MD in pathology,  she had joined as an assistant professor in a Government Medical College. Then came up her marriage. OVERCOMING HOPELESSNESS : Thomaskutty Mathew, 1st BA Sociology

   Today I am going to introduce a new personality, who might be familiar to at least some of us. His name is Nick Vujicic.   Nick Vujicic is an Australian-American motivational speaker, born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of hands and legs. He was born in Australia and later he shifted to California. Basically he is a Christian evangelist.    The essence of all his speech is to "transform the worse into the best." In his autobiography,  he says that when he was born his mother was reluctant to see him. Later on they eventually accepted the fact that it was God's plan for their son.   He says about how he overcame obstacles in his life. Further, he adds that his  obstacles became opportunities. He says that a lot of students teased him. In spite of all those he could  complete his higher education successfully.   His words are to be noted in our hearts.  " When we lose hope we will lose our strength to live. " Willpower
