Mrs. R. Sreelekha is the first female I.P.S . officer from Kerala cadre .She was in the 1987 batch. Three years later she became the superintendent of police in Kerala. She is the first lady who became the Director General of Police in our state. She is honoured with various awards. She is one of the powerful women in India. She talks about how her calibre was questioned by misogynists during her tenure as an I.P.S .officer and how she proved  her mettle to the nation.

When she joined as an A.S.P in service , police department was a masculine field. D.G.P. said to his subordinates  that she is coming to  polute the police department .Being a lady she was offered a lot of  concessions and favours  by the D.G.P. She refused all. She was a  dedicated officer.She worked hard and proved that she can do all things better than men.

When she got married, she was transferred to a very insignificant post in Crime Record  Bureau. Though she  resisted to this degradation, she had to obey the order. The work in CRS was not challenging .So she wanted to do something innovative .She  analysed that many cases registered on narcotic substance. So she made a short film based on the ill effect of narcotic substance and the film shown in many schools and colleges. The next year 40% of the crime on narcotic substance was reduced. As a reward she got the first good service entry from the  Government. She also talked about a subordinate officer who  denied to salute her due to his ego and how  he  respected her later.

Then she talked  about natural justice. According to her,  if   we  do good things to others, good things will come to us. If   we  do bad things to others, bad things will come to us. We will get the result in this life time itself.

According to her all are Gems. Gem require a lot of rubbing and polishing .There will be challenges, problems, Chaos… etc in our life. We have to face it .Consider it as a polishing process to come out  the real gem from us. Then we will shine like a gem and our inner value will come out .We will  become a better person .Let us face all the problem .Then our true mettle will come out. Having born with a golden spoon in mouth, will not give us happiness. When we do hard work and achieve something.we will get the real pleasure. She concluded her speach saying that our attitude should be positive.

  Lady in the house, her responsibilities and ambitions The most important video which struck my attention was the inspirational video by Amrita Duhan. Ms.Amrita Duhan is an IPS officer by profession and MBBS by degree. She hails from Rohtak in Haryana. From the very young age she dreamt of becoming a Civil Servant. She was inspired by a serial telecasted in the Doordarshan channel. Later when she informed it in her family her parents didn't support it. Sarcastically, she says that the ultimate goal of middle-class parents is let their children be a doctor or engineer. She further adds that for a secure future Mrs Amarita Duhan choose MBBS and she says that she is the first doctor in her own family. After completing her MBBS and MD in pathology,  she had joined as an assistant professor in a Government Medical College. Then came up her marriage.    Today I am going to introduce a new personality, who might be familiar to at least some of us. His name is Nick Vujicic.   Nick Vujicic is an Australian-American motivational speaker, born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of hands and legs. He was born in Australia and later he shifted to California. Basically he is a Christian evangelist.    The essence of all his speech is to "transform the worse into the best." In his autobiography,  he says that when he was born his mother was reluctant to see him. Later on they eventually accepted the fact that it was God's plan for their son.   He says about how he overcame obstacles in his life. Further, he adds that his  obstacles became opportunities. He says that a lot of students teased him. In spite of all those he could  complete his higher education successfully.   His words are to be noted in our hearts.  " When we lose hope we will lose our strength to live. " Willpower
