A well educated mind vs A well formed mind: Dr Shashi Tharoor by Alen Shibu

Hello everyone,

Today I am trying to present the TED x talk of Dr. Shashi Tharoor

In his talk he emphasises the importance of a well formed mind than a well educated mind. The average age of Indian population is 28,so we have a very young population compared to all other countries.  He says that by 2020, we will have 160 million people in this age group ready to work. Even though we are equipped to be the superpower of the world we have some limitations. In the 1970s &  80s the students attending the classes were very less. There were also barriers like women not getting proper education and their early marriage issues. But by amending new laws a change in this was seen upto a certain extent. This made a proper education in the lower primary. But when we come to the upper primary the students dropping list is very high. He says that in olden days,if a child couldn't get proper education it was the fault of their parents, but today it is the fault of government. Even if we are educated, most of the company CEO'S are not satisfied with the quality of Indian education. Shashi tharoor says we need a mind that reacts to unfamiliar facts and achieve information on the same. He says we have enormous challenges but we can overcome those and become a superpower in the world. He concludes his talk by saying "we are coming" which really motivated me. Thank you
