 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY


Every year June 5th is celebrated as environment day across the globe. The theme for this year's environment day is "ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION." Pakistan will be hosting this years environment day.

Environment Day is celebrated  to remind people about the importance of nature. Their silent selfless sacrifice cannot be left unseen. In the absence of human activities amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown, nature is getting time to clean itself and reclaim its space.


For a healthy life, the environment plays an important role. It provides us with air, food, etc. Someone rightly said that the difference between animals and humans is that animals change themselves for the environment, but humans change the environment for themselves. The environment is like our neighbourhood, its surrounding conditions affect us and also modify development. It is necessary to address environmental issues like deforestation, increasing global warming, wastage and losses of food, pollution etc. 



The state of our environment is falling day by day due to pollution and global warming. We must celebrate environment-friendly development to save the environment for a better future in our country. Be like the environment to others,  rendering selfless service for others.

  Lady in the house, her responsibilities and ambitions The most important video which struck my attention was the inspirational video by Amrita Duhan. Ms.Amrita Duhan is an IPS officer by profession and MBBS by degree. She hails from Rohtak in Haryana. From the very young age she dreamt of becoming a Civil Servant. She was inspired by a serial telecasted in the Doordarshan channel. Later when she informed it in her family her parents didn't support it. Sarcastically, she says that the ultimate goal of middle-class parents is let their children be a doctor or engineer. She further adds that for a secure future Mrs Amarita Duhan choose MBBS and she says that she is the first doctor in her own family. After completing her MBBS and MD in pathology,  she had joined as an assistant professor in a Government Medical College. Then came up her marriage. After marriage when she said that she wish to become a Civil Servant, her in-laws discouraged

OVERCOMING HOPELESSNESS : Thomaskutty Mathew, 1st BA Sociology

   Today I am going to introduce a new personality, who might be familiar to at least some of us. His name is Nick Vujicic.   Nick Vujicic is an Australian-American motivational speaker, born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of hands and legs. He was born in Australia and later he shifted to California. Basically he is a Christian evangelist.    The essence of all his speech is to "transform the worse into the best." In his autobiography,  he says that when he was born his mother was reluctant to see him. Later on they eventually accepted the fact that it was God's plan for their son.   He says about how he overcame obstacles in his life. Further, he adds that his  obstacles became opportunities. He says that a lot of students teased him. In spite of all those he could  complete his higher education successfully.   His words are to be noted in our hearts.  " When we lose hope we will lose our strength to live. " Willpower
