"I have promises to keep."
The vow, the pledge of honour were just words which used to pass through my road of life until I realised that I do have promises to keep to an unusual person. Someone who's tenderness is like a drop of water to a parched desert. Her divine touch quenches the thirst of my heart that has been longing to meet it's soul.
Promises have never been so important to me until the vigorous side of me started to take it's leap to find the flower that bloomed for me. She stretched out her palms so that I could have a sound sleep. She watered me so that I could go and conquer the kingdom's.
The grove hushed to welcome their heir. I have promises to keep to my fellow mates who are waiting for their flower who was once a small bud caressed lovingly by their warmth. I belong to them and so, I should not stop my journey amidst the glitters that take hold of my eyes. My journey will be long and tiresome till I find my niche. But atleast I have brought with me a bag full of elation to embellish the grasslands.
Promises that I have are not really goals of career or achievements but gratitude to millions of hands out there who held me to be who I am today and who I will be tomorrow.
And some promises are to be broken to take new turns of happiness that were once a truckload of cries under the wistful nights. Hold tight to your hopes because the days you've dreamt for are on their journey to pick you up.
Wipe your tears and make yourself ready to welcome the best days of your life. Because the last page of your chapter will be the place were the new character of your book will be introduced. And when you finish reading it you will realize the new one was the bud with whom you shared your warmth years before. Life is a circle it ends at the point where you started things afresh. See to that you have promises to keep before you end your voyage, because you won't be welcomed there with an empty hand.
Well written 👏
