MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH BY R. SREELEKHA/ Amulyamol Benny, B. A. Sociology,

                     R. Sreelekha is an IPS officer in the Indian Police Service and first Lady officer of the IPS from Kerala. She is a dedicated officer, author and has also served as managing director for public sector organisations in Kerala. 

                        In this speech, she talks about her own life and how her calibre was questioned by people during her tenure as an IPS officer. She talks about Kerala, God's own country and very proud of it. Till our society didn't accept the presence of a woman in public place. When she became first Lady IPS officer, people were shocked. During that period the DGP announced to her visitors she has come to pollute our department. It is the attitude of the department. They don't know what to do with a Lady officer. They gave lots of concessions and facilities like do not have to do night duty, do not have to do traffic duty etc. But she refused all of them. And she want to prove that a woman can do all the works better than a man. She do one more duty at the same time. 

                          Then she got married. She transferred to crome records beuro near her husband's place when she was ACP. She asked about the trasfer. The DGP said that because you married and it is more convenient for you. But she did more good works in the department and she can reduce 40% of crimes that year. She got the first good entry service from the government. Then another problem come when she was the Suprend of police, one particular officer refused to come in front of her. Because he will salute any idiot, but not a woman. But after several years ahe got a chance to met that officer and she made him salute 10 times. This is the struggles she faced during her career. 

                 She conclude that, what ever you do in this life, that will come back to you. If you do good things, you will back reward. If you do bad things, you will back punishment. Then the challenge are tests to check our capacity. Face all the challenges and polish your own life. Life is full of challenges but it is concerned with your own attitude. So be your attitude and always let your attitude positive.
